Our Chambers
Serving Malaysian families with care and legal clarity
Sejahtera was founded on the understanding that estate matters deserve unhurried, considered attention — and that the families who bring these matters to us deserve to feel heard.

How Sejahtera came to be
Sejahtera was established in Kuala Lumpur by practitioners who had each spent formative years in larger general-practice firms, where they noticed a pattern: clients with estate and inheritance concerns often arrived at sessions that were too brief, too technical, and too far removed from the personal weight of what they were dealing with.
The chambers was built around a different premise — that inheritance legal work requires as much patience as expertise. We take the time that each matter genuinely calls for, and we present our advice in language families can actually use when they return home and need to explain the situation to one another.
Our practice is focused exclusively on estate planning and inheritance matters, which allows our team to maintain depth rather than breadth. We do not offer general litigation or commercial legal services, and we believe this focus serves our clients better.
Our Mission
What we are here to do
Our mission is to help Malaysian families bring order and intention to their estate affairs — in a way that is legally sound, culturally informed, and as straightforward as the subject allows.
Malaysia's inheritance landscape is genuinely complex, sitting at the intersection of civil law, Syariah principles, and a broad diversity of family and asset structures. We take that complexity seriously rather than simplifying it away, and we work through it carefully with each client.

Our Standards
Professional standards we uphold
Malaysian Bar Membership
All practitioners at Sejahtera hold current membership with the Malaysian Bar and comply with its professional conduct rules, continuing legal education requirements, and ethical obligations.
Syariah Competence
Our lead practitioner has formal training in Islamic estate principles, and the chambers consults with qualified Syariah advisors where matters require specialist input beyond general Faraid knowledge.
Client Confidentiality
Professional confidentiality is not a policy at Sejahtera — it is a legal obligation that governs every engagement. Client information is never shared without explicit consent, and our file management reflects this throughout.
Document Security
Client documents — wills, trust deeds, letters of wishes, and correspondence — are stored securely with controlled access. Original execution copies are handled with formal chain-of-custody procedures.
Written Advice Standards
Every session is followed by a written summary of advice given, decisions made, and next steps agreed. This standard is maintained across all three service engagements.
Continuing Education
Our practitioners maintain current knowledge in Malaysian estate law, including legislative amendments and case developments relevant to civil and Syariah inheritance matters in this jurisdiction.
Estate planning and inheritance law in Malaysia
Malaysia's inheritance landscape involves a careful interplay between civil succession law, the Faraid framework applicable to Muslims, and the practical considerations that arise when families hold a mix of asset types — EPF savings, insurance policies, property, investments, and business interests. Navigating this terrain requires more than general legal knowledge; it calls for focused experience in the specific instruments and processes that apply.
At Sejahtera, our work is concentrated in this area alone. Over years of practice, we have developed a working familiarity with the practical details that matter to families — how Faraid proportions interact with testamentary wishes, how hibah structures operate and what their limitations are, how EPF nominations interact with a broader estate plan, and how the probate and letters of administration processes unfold in Malaysian courts.
We work with clients who are preparing their own affairs for the future, and with families who are administering an estate following a bereavement. Both require careful attention. Both benefit from a practitioner who is familiar with the terrain and willing to take the time the matter deserves.
